Caleb Lovejoy's Almshouse Charity - Trustee vacancy
The Caleb Lovejoy Almshouse Charity owns and manages four almshouse cottages that lie in Bury Street, close to St Nicolas Church in Guildford. It was founded by Caleb Lovejoy under the terms of his will in 1676 to provide accommodation for four people in need and with a strong local connection. The cottages are housed in a Grade II Listed Building, built in 1842.
There is currently a vacancy for a trustee of the charity.
Roger Musson is serving as Chair. He has found his involvement with this local charity, a living part of Guildford's heritage, interesting and fulfilling. Day-to-day management is delegated to the very competent Clerk & Manager. The time commitment for Trustees is not onerous, normally involving three meetings and a reception each year, plus a little more for those on the executive committee.
Michael More-Molyneux, a Trustee until his appointment as HM Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, retains a keen interest in the activities of the Charity as its Patron.
Roger would be pleased to hear from anyone who might be interested in becoming a trustee and who would like more information:
Mount Browne development
